This master thesis aims to present an architectural-urban study which deals with a proposal for a tourist office in a former mortuary building, building a protective construction above a preserved ossuary in a former charnel house and a lapidarium proposal in crypts of MPR Trnava (Town Monument Reserve Trnava). All of the above-mentioned is located in an archaeological park at the cemetery next to the church in MPR Trnava, the proposal for which was dealt with in my assignment prior to this thesis. The place is situated in the eastern part of the historical centre of Trnava, in larger area of Námestie sv. Mikuláša (St. Nicholas square) in close proximity of the town fortification. The significance of this locality leads to innumerable possible suggestions. The frame method for renovation applied in this thesis enables presenting all historical features of the given area to the full extent. The most important objective was to create a cover construction above the ossuary with the main accent on preserving the original Roman ossuary. Within the bounds of possibility, the construction is reversible, unique masonry in its interior is taken into account as well as access for the public and microclimate preservation. In exterior, a presentation of masonry from parts of chapel and apse above the ground that have not been preserved is proposed. Another goal is to design a tourist office in baroque-classical building of the former mortuary and a new stairway to the building. The former includes space for presenting the area, selling tickets, souvenirs and snacks, premises for staff and bathrooms. Lastly, a plan of lapidarium of the whole area placed in reconstructed and accessible underground crypts is included. This study is usable as a basis proposal for Trnava town where a complex renovation of the area of the cemetery at St. Nicholas Basilica is being planned. This thesis presents one of possible ways of the renovation while presenting former characteristics of the area to a different extent.
