The main objective of my thesis is to design architectural study of multipurpose building with a predominant function of housing and with complementary functions compatible with housing following up an overall urban design of location "Cvernovka" with the solution designed in the winter semester 2015/2016. Area of interest with an area of 5.93 hectares is located near the center of Bratislava, east of the center in city part Ružinov. The area is bounded by Páričkova Street and Dulovo Square to the north, Košicka Street to the east, Mlynské Nivy Street to the south, Svätoplukova street to the west. The territory served the original manufacturing technology-based industrial enterprise - Cvernovka. The factory is consisted of a complex of buildings with typical historic industrial architecture of the early 20th century. One of the advantages is the area's good transport accessibility, near the area there is a first class road I/63 and Košicka Street. Surrounding of the interest area consists of main functions: public amenities citywide and above-urban importance, mixed area of housing and community facilities and low floor residential area. In my work I have tried to achieve such an architectural expression of a residential building which corresponds to the surrounding buildings of the former industrial complex and at the same time prove the connectedness of old and new architectural forms with an emphasis on the functional use of non-residential spaces.
