The aim of this bachelor thesis is a project for construction of an apartment building with polyfunctional use and underground floor. While designing the apartment building I considered a contrast with the surrounding buildings and environment. The hanging balconies lined with composite cladding TRESPA stand out as a tangible accent. By being closed from all sides they have utility also in severe weather conditions, while in the summer provide shielding and protect the interior from overheating. The structural system of the building consists of tow-way load-bearing walls with two-way reinforced ceiling plates. The plates in the underground floor are placed on girders. The outer building shell and roof structure fulfil the thermal standards aplicable from 2020. The materials used on the building ensure high resistance to heat transfer, such as thermal isolation made of rock wool or plastic windows with insulating triple glazing. The layout of the apartments is designed with a day part, in which residents will spend the majority of their time, and a night part providing comfort while not oversizing the room area. A standard three-bedroom apartments consist of two separate fully equipped bathrooms maximizing the privacy of household members. The staircase with elevator shaft placed in the core of the apartment building is designed to fulfil fire safety norms. In the hallway on each floor are cells, which again slightly increase the living comfort. This buidling apartment is a project, of which concept and architecture fits into my idea of modern living while meeting STN EN standards.
