The presented work deals with the process of freezing and heating wood. We used two wood species for the process of freezing and heating wood, namely spruce (Picea abies L.) and pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). The aim of the work was to verify the heating parameters in the winter months. The result of the measurement was the course of temperatures after the cross-section of the material of two different trees in different thicknesses and initial humidity, whether during the freezing of the material or heating. During the experiment, we observed the loss of moisture, humidity gradients, skewing and density. According to the analysis and measurement, we would like to point out the importance of the defrosting process in the winter months.
