The settlement of Water-mill Mudrochov is situated in Dechtice, small village 20 kilometres north from Trnava, West Slovakia. According to military mapping the formation of settlement is dated between the turn of 18th and 19th century and first third of 19th century. The objects and technology of the mill were transformed during several construction phases, however exact architectonic-historical research has not been done yet. Mill building is proposed to be added to the list of national cultural heritage. The aim of subject was to verify possibilities of Water-mill Mudrochov and its adaptation for polyfunctional use. This leads to the concept of maximal utilization of existing structures, regarding area's heritage values and limits of volume and space organisation. The mill settlement has always served various purposes - living, working, resting. All these functions were cumulated in the centre of settlement - in the courtyard. My proposal is based on this principle of economic and social point.. New interventions are trying to disturb volume and space organisation and architectural grip of the area the least. Original structures are preserved in the highest possible rate. The new structure of roof on the farm house is distinguishable, but not disturbing, as well as new dormers in the roof of residential part. The function of dwelling, catering, agriculture and rest are joined together and forms a complex entity similar to the living in the mill in past. By revitalisation of foot-path along the stream Blava the mill resumed its role in the life of village and surroundings.
