RONČÁK, Dana, Bc.: Comparison of the credit policy of selected commercial banks supporting housing. [Diploma thesis]. Technical University in Zvolen. Thesis Supervisor: doc. Ing. Marek Potkány, PhD. Year of defense: 2019. Number of pages: 76.The aim of the diploma thesis is to examine and compare the credit policies and conditions of the Slovak and Austrian commercial banks in financing the construction of a reference wooden building. The thesis consists of two main chapters, theoretical and practical. In the first part of the thesis we focus on the theoretical definitions and the practical part of the thesis consists of several key subchapters. The first part of the analytical chapter is focused on introducing the examined commercial banks and defining the type profile of the customertogether with the specific type of wooden building that is being funded by our customer. The second part of the practical part is devoted to the analysis of credit indicators that would be offered to our client by applying for a mortgage loan in Slovenská sporiteľňa and in Erste Bank. In the next section, we will focus on comparing the identified indicators and evaluating which of our chosen commercial banks would offer our client more favorable credit terms. In this part of the thesis we will also focus on the support for the construction of wooden constructions by commercial banks and we will find out whether advantageous credit conditions and financing options are offered to clients in the case of financing wooden constructions. In the third part of the practical chapter we will focus on the area of state support of financing wooden buildings. At the end of the thesis we briefly define the area of psychology in the field of financial decision making and point out the importance of non-financial factors in important life decisions.
