The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the structure and regeneration processes of the stands with the prevalence of silver fir in the Urban forests of Stará Ľubovňa. The main aim of this work was to determine the changes in diameter and height structure and dynamics of regeneration processes of stands, which occurred during the period of two years 2016 - 2018. Furthermore in this work, the volume structure, the growth dependence of crown volume and tree trunk were analyzed, areal canopy was examined, as well as the usage of available production space. The data analyzed were obtained by measurements on a series of three permanent research plots (PRP) with the area of 0.25 ha, established in 2016. Within the PRP the stabilized transects were 0.05 ha. PRPs were based in the entity of Stará Ľubovňa´s Urban forests, in stands with predominantly silver fir and a different degree of regeneration. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the issues focused on the analysis of information obtained from the professional literature. The issue deals with the characteristics and ecological requirements of silver fir, tending and regeneration of fir stands, and a description of regeneration methods suitable for fir stands. The next part of the thesis contains processed and evaluated results of individual measurements. The analysis of stand structures pointed out that silver fir is dominantly represented in tree species composition on all three PRPs. From the analysis of the regeneration processes it can be stated that the fir tree is also the dominant tree species in all the PRPs studied. The results of the paper point to the fact that for successful fir growing it is optimal the use of a small-scale shelterwood system with a sufficiently long regeneration period.
