he aim of the thesis was the research of plant communities in the oak grazing forests ofSlovenské rudohorie. The research was conducted at six locations. The investigated areaswere characterized by high species richness. A total of 114 plant species were observed. Wefound that non-forest heliophytes species had the largest abundance in the speciescomposition. Species of oak communities are small in pasture oaks. In some areas there was adeveloped undergrowth in the shrub layer. We processed the obtained data in the JUICE andCANOCO programs. The tabular analysis divided the observed communities into three typesaccording to the similarity of plant species and assigned them diagnostic and permanentspecies. According to the indirect gradient analysis, the orographic unit and the geologymainly contribute to the species composition. Based on the obtained data, we can also assumethe effect of grazing on the species composition. Plant species indicating grazing occurred onthe examined areas. Typical species of oak forest communities are suppressed by herbivory inoak grazing forest. Ceasing of grazing or low grazing intensity in some areas is indicated bythe presence of tall grasses and nitrophilous species. Pasture oaks differ from standardlymanaged oaks forests by species richness and different dominant species.
