The subject matter of the present bachelor's thesis is the problematic of chair joints cut from a solid wood. The theoretical part discusses the typology and functional parameters of chairs, individual structural elements of chairs, various types of their connection and the technology of their production with a focus on machinery necessary for the construction of joints. The aim of the work is to define the construction of solid wood chairs manufactured at the specific company - RG-nábytok, and to design another construction solutions of these chairs with a focus on improving ergonomics and the use of alternative types of joining its legs and aprons. The advantages and disadvantages of the proposed alternative joints are evaluated from various points of view. The result of the thesis is the production documentation of four alternative construction solutions of the assessed chair. In the thesis, the construction of the manufactured chair was defined and another construction solution was proposed, while the input material remained unchanged. The importance of the work lies in the design of an alternative solution of a chair for a given company, which has the opportunity to offer it to the final customer.Keywords: chair, design elements, joints, technology, construction of leg and apron joints
