This work deals with selected properties of thermally modified wood. The first part of the experiment deals with thermal modification of oak wood (Quercus robur L.), which was treated at atmospheric pressure at temperatures of 150 to 220 ° C for 1, 3 and 5 hours. The second part of the experiment was focused on color measurement in the CIE L*a*b* system. The third part of the experiment was focused on determining the resistance of thermally modified wood to six wood - destroying fungi (Coniophora puteana, Gloeophyllum trabeum, Rhodonia placenta, Serpula lacrimans, Pleurotus ostreatus, Trametes versicolor) on the basis of a mini - mycological test.
