The work is dedicated to the spreading and diversity of woody plants in the urban area of the town Zvolen, focuses on the species Cerasus avium – cherry tree, Cerasus serrulata - japanese cherry (sakura), Cerasus vulgaris – sour cherry, Crataegus sp. – hawthorn, Cydonia oblonga – quince, Juglans regia – persian walnut, Malus × domestica - apple tree, Malus sp. (except Malus × domestica) - apple tree (ornamental species), Prunus padus - hackberry and Pyrus communis - european pear. It evaluates woody plants according to dendrometric parameters, developmental stage, health condition and horticultural value. The domestic apple also focuses on varietal diversity with an emphasis on old and regional varieties. The outputs of the work are proposals for the care of fruit trees, proposals for the protection of the gene pool and the popularization of fruit trees for the administration of Zvolen and the proposal of the town orchard. It includes maps of tree distribution and a catalog of individuals.
