The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the production of fast-growing woody plants while using alternative methods of fertilization. Production was monitored on the basket willow - Salix viminalis L., specifically the Tordis variety, grown on a demonstration plantation belonging to the Technical University in Zvolen. Wood ash and sewage sludge were used as alternative fertilizers. Production intensity was assessed by increment on a circular base. Two areas were set aside on the plantation to which alternative fertilizers were applied and one area without fertilization was used to compare production. Field measurements took place at the beginning and at the end of one growing season. After the last measurement, half of the dendromase was collected from each monitored area. The collected dendromase was used to calculate the mass production according to the individual type of fertilization. Part of the work is the characteristics of sewage sludge and wood ash, including information about their origin, methods of treatment and legislation concerning their handling. The theoretical part contains a definition of basic terms such as dendromas, biomass, it´s chemical composition, evaluation of biomass use in Slovakia and the risks associated with it. Part of the theory is also devoted to the description of selected species of fast-growing woody plants, the genus Willow, the Basket Willow as a cultivated species and its four best-known varieties. The methodology section provides a brief description of the demonstration plantation. The work also includes our own results and experience gained in the application of selected fertilizer materials and evaluation of measurement results, which can be used in further research focused on a similar topic.
