In the outer part of the large area of "Masarykovo nádraží", nowadays separated from its own internal station by lines of north-southern highway, lies a preserved historical assembly of functional buildings of the former locomotive depot workshops with objects associated with the commencement of operation of the station in 1945. Architecture of these buildings is valuable particularly for its industrial character as a significant representative of the remarkable typological category from the early days of railways. A major problem of the area is the destruction of this city part by the north-southern highway and a complete loss of human scale. The area is adjacent to the historic core of the city in the radial lines leading from the "Prašná brána" in the centre of Prague. My goal is to transform the former railway depot into a railway museum of the National Technical Museum in Prague. In my proposal there is a place for all ages of visitors, not only for the locals, but also for tourists from abroad. Visitors will leave full of new experiences and inspiration and will be happy to return here.
