The goal of this work is to make a connection between craft and design. It is not only about studying the possibilities of use of craft weavin techniques in contemporary industrial design. It is about creation of new variable stringing technique, that use modern technologies, but still include handiwork too. Main inspirational source is folklore and craft. The part of the work is the aplication of the created technique in product design. The main product, the new weaving technique was especially made for, is an easy chair made of bent aluminium pipes, where the weaving is used for seat part and backrest part. Besides the aesthetical function the ergonomical approach is important too.
