Following diploma thesis interlocks with prior project that was focusing on close surroundings, spatial arrangement and facade of a former riding hall in Trebišov. Riding hall is situated in the mansion's area that was built by count Imrich Csáky in the second half of 18th century. Now late gothic manor house is being used as a museum with slowly deteriorating riding hall serving as storage. Reconstruction of the whole object as well as search for new function for these aesthetic historic premises was the goal of our thesis. We were contemplating an idea: What is the city missing and what would attract more tourists? City Trebišov being located in Tokaj's vineyard area we decided to put modern arts galery in the riding hall building premises combined with a restaurant and a winehouse. By keeping some of the partition walls and massive oak tree beams intact the interior still radiates that original vintage atmosphere which is very important when dealing with these types of structures. Handling the subtances, surface and materials with utmost care and delicacy we were able to achieve clean, aesthetic and functional interior and that should be always on the forefront of every architect's or interior designer's mind when reconstructing historical building. In the blueprint we are focusing on concrete spatial arrangement, accessories and overall design of furniture and structural elements with adequate materials and colors in mind. Complex draft adaptation has taken its final form applicable in the actual practice.
