ULIČNÁ, Monika: Perception of forest ecosystem services in Slovakia: Thesisꓼ Technical University of Zvolen, All University Program, Management ans economics of renewable natural resourcesꓼ Thesis supervisor: prof. Dr. Jaroslav Šálka, Degree of Professional qualification: an engineer, „ing.“, Zvolen 2021, 65 p. The diploma thesis was focused on the analysis of a questionnaire survey on the perception of forest ecosystem services in Slovakia. This theis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part where the issue of ecosystem services is approached, and their perception by society as well as the perception of trade-offs in ecosystem services. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, we focused on the specific analysis and evaluation of the questionnaire on the perception of ecosystem services in Slovakia. The results of the analysis show that forests are of the greatest importance for the respondents as producers of reulatory ecosystem services, as the highest values were given by the respondents to the protection of air, plant and animal species or mitigation of the negative effects of climate change. The production of the forest and thus the production of useful and firewood proved to be the least important in the analysis. We can also state that age, education and also the area in which people live does not have a significant effect on the perception of the forest. Key words: ecosystem, forest ecosystem services, trade-offs, perception
