Zvolen: TU, 2019. 81 pp.Thesis is concerned about analysis of the labor market development of the Slovak Republic since joining the European Union and the macroeconomic phenomena of unemployment from general and more specific point of view. It discusses the types of unemployment, the ways of measuring it, the consequences for the economy as a whole but also for the individual subjects. In my work, I focused mainly on the analysis of the development of unemployment in individual years of the reference period, while the greatest emphasis was placed on the period after the join of the Slovak Republic to the European Union. I managed to characterize the current state of the labor market and name the state's labor market measures leading to a reduction of unemployment. The object of this work was fulfilled on the basis of relevant facts from the area of the labor market, which I used in its creation.
