Margita Kubišová, PhD.Bachelor thesis, Bratislava, 2017The subject of my bachelor thesis was to design a Community centre, which I situated in the village of Stránske. Stránske is located in the Žilina Region and it is hidden in a valley surrounded by side, thanks to which the village got its name. In the centre of the village is the building with store and pub. My task was to design a community centre and reconstruct this building in accordance with the preservation of the structures.My design includes a multi-purpose hall for about 100 people, cafe with facilities, clubhouses of various sizes, workroom and the shop.Next to the existing building, is a house situated from north side, and Anton Ursik´s workroom, whose work is connected with his life. His first priority is carving wooden statuettes with religious themes, but he also became famous for the production of an altar for the chapel in Mojšová Lúčka. In the building was designed a carver´s workroom with the shop and it is connected with his own house.The building is next to the school and kindergarten from the south-eastern side, where is also the bus stop. The municipal office with a sports hall is located on the west side. The design of the building respects wider urban - architectural relationships, regional architecture and theoretical backgrounds.
