The topic of my diploma thesis was to address the educational center ARTUR, the building is located in the village of Hrubý Šur, near Senec. The building is located next to the main road on the right side towards the Zlaté Klasy. This building is overlooked because it is a historic building, which is over 100 years old and originally here housed the Folk School. The aim of this association is save building from demolition and restore her life, because many people from the surrounding area has a wealth of memories from her childhood or youth. Given the age and condition of the building was necessary to do a total reconstruction, because the original premises did not meet the ideological and practical needs of the association. Reconstruction has undergone original part of the building and annex was added in order to better and more effectivelly working in center. Thanks to the additional space was possible to built the staircase, which made available a newly-designed loft, which serves to accommodate participants of courses organized by the association. When renovating and furnishing the interior, I just focused on a few ideas that has been interpreted during the excursion. I saw that this association has intrinsic values, which spreads and wants to apply also in the interior, which should underline and present this values. The main idea is thus an alternative way of building and the use of alternative materials and no more damaging the nature and often using more economical and sensible solutions such as the classic. This idea approached me and whole my work is to link this idea with reality - the functioning of the association in this building. It was necessary to know the modus operandi of the association. I decided therefore to take this opportunity and I worked with alternative materials such as straw (full extension) and clay plaster (exterior, interior building floor in the attic). In addition to this idea I wish to maintain also the need of the association and thus divide the two main rooms,,' clean, semi-public, the presentation room -- theory classroom and 'dirty', working room intended primarily to work with plaster during organized courses. Both of these rooms are furnished with simple and multifunctional furniture that allows transformation of the space by current needs of the association. The interior of the building is therefore furnished easily, which is reflected in the basic cubic shapes but also in the used materials and the principle of using alternative materials not only the building itself but also in the interior. When resolve this center I have complied with the standard specified functional and operational relationships, typological standard furnishing elements and their communication with the interior and thus I have created a functional and satisfactory environment for the association.
