The work deals with adsorption of Pb2+ ions from an aquatic solution on virgin sheep wool as well as the wool irradiated by accelerated electron beam with doses of 156 kGy and 400 kGy. It was found that the adsorption efficacy of the Pb2+ within the concentration range of 10-6 – 10-4 mol.dm-3 given as percentage of the Pb2+ content decrease in the solution is very high reaching 99 %. Within the applied range of the low concentrations, the effect of the wool modification by the electron beam was evidenced to be nonsignificant and, the efficacy of the Pb2+ adsorption was observed as the same for all wool samples.
