The master thesis is focused on the impact of macro-environment elements on the standard of living in the city of Detva. The theoretical part deals with issues of macroeconomics, quality of life and living standard in the context of macro-environment. All of the used data are drawn from the books sources of various authors. The analytical part contains the basic characteristic and analysis of the city of Detva in terms of elements of macro-environment and their impact on the standard of living. The analysis is processed in cooperation with the employees of the municipal office and information from the city's website, which is clearly summarized by SWOT analysis. The survey was completed with a questionnaire survey, which is evaluated statistically, graphically and descriptively. Part of the evaluation is the testing of predetermined hypotheses. The last chapter of the evaluation and discussion contains the SWOT analysis of the city of Detva, which is supplemented by information obtained by the questionnaire survey together with the determination of proposals for measures and changes for the improvement of the issue.
