The topic of the master thesis is the postagricultural succession in the model area of Nízke Javorníky Mts. In this area, we selected 25 plots in five age classes, using stratified selection according to orthophotos. In these plots, we have made phytosociological relevés usng Braun-Blanquet aproach. Only tree and shrub species were registered. We processed relevés in JUICE 7.1 program (Tichý 2002) and we exported diagnostic species combinations for each developmental stage. Ordination of on similarity we performed using the DCA gradient analysis in CANOCO 4.5 software (ter Braak, Šmilauer 2002). In our territory, we distinguished 5 stages of successional development (6th stage should be beech drumes and oak beech (climax forest)). We distinguished 2 basic variants of coniferous and broadleaf, and 5 subvariations of successional development. They were differentiated by main tree and shrub species (variants of Juniperus communis, Pinus sylvestris, Prunus spinosa, Ligustrum vulgare, Corylus avellana and Populus tremula). We reconstructed 60 years of successional development of stands and estimated approximate duration of development phases.
