The present time brings a huge development of mechanization of work, which greatly simplifies physically demanding work, thus speeding it up and improving it. Many factors that have a negative effect on the environment, but also on the person himself, are caused by various conditions of the working environment together with the work activity performed by the person. The scientific ability to recognize and study noise and vibration is the possibility of its evaluation according to the measurement results. This work is focused on measuring the noise of individual woodworking equipment in a specific woodworking company. Based on the scientific literature, we analyze for approximation noise and vibration, describes their negative effects on humans. We deal mainly with measurement methods and noise measurement itself, as well as the protection of workers' health from this load. The practical part of this diploma thesis analyzes the noise of selected work equipment and then we compare the measured noise values with the noise limit values, which are regulated by the Regulation of the Government of the Slovak Republic no. 115/2006 on minimum health and safety requirements for the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to noise. The work also includes a proposal for measures to improve them.
