In cooperation and for the needs of Slovak Legal Metrology, a dead-weight Torque Standard Machine of maximal loading capacity 2000 Nm was developed and designed. A new unique approach in design was chosen as the change in loading is performed by changing the angle of the lever arm, while the length of the arm and load remain constant. The lever arm rotates from horizontal to vertical position in 90° movement and allows for calibrating of torque transducers in both in clockwise and anti-clockwise motion. This thesis presents applied design solutions, their advantages and drawbacks, and also discusses further areas of improvement, which would potentitally lead to achieving better calibrating accuracy.
