The aim of bachelor thesis is to examine and assess the approach and the need for the use of standard and alternative forms of financing small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovakia. Bachelor work is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical basis of small and medium-sized enterprises, their definition and importance, functions and financing of standard and alternative forms of financing. The second and third chapter are devoted to the aims and methodology of the bachelor thesis. The content of the fourth chapter is the analysis of the empirical survey on a sample of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Slovakia in terms of access and use of selected forms of funding. Part of the last, five chapter is to evaluate the achieved results and to formulate recommendations for improving the access of small and medium-sized enterprises to financing.
