The aim of this paper is to design a gallery project directly in the monument area of the Slovak city Nitra. The aim was to create the gallery design in a way that will perfectly fit into the historic background of the city center, but at the same time will also bring new energy and modernity. The main idea was to combine the old with the new in a single harmony without any distracting elements. Apart from standard technical aspects, the project also takes into account the legal requirements of monument area protection, ecological norms as well as the needs of people with physical disabilities. From the perspective of its compositional and material layout, the gallery is designed to serve as a suitable place for young Slovak artists and the exhibition of their works, which are currently exhibited in shopping centers to very limited extent only.
