MIČIAK, Matej: Chata pod Rozsutcom [Bachelor’s thesis] Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava; Faculty of Civil Engineering; Department of architecture. Thesis supervisor: Ing. arch. Margita Kubišová, PhD. Bratislava: Svf STU, 2018. In the bachelor thesis we elaborate on our proposal for a mountain cottage, which is a modern analogy to the original Chata pod Rozsutcom. The cottage was part of the monumental scenery of the fifth highest mountain of Mala Fatra - Veľký Rozsutec until 1985. After a fire outbreak it was destroyed and since then there was no new building of a similar type that would serve tourists and sports enthusiasts in the original location or nearby. Therefore, our task is to design a modern mountain cottage with a food-accommodation character that will once again become an important stop for tourists who are visiting the surrounding area. The building includes a restaurant with a capacity of 100 persons with a kitchen for preparing food, guest units in the form of guest rooms and places for sleeping bags, an office room and rooms for staff, a terrace with a buffet and a maisonette apartment for the manager of the cottage. The proposal itself must also meet a low-energy concept that is adjusted to the year-round operation of the cottage.Our proposed building is situated in the National Park Mala Fatra - Sedlo Medziholie, between the hills of Veľký Rozsutec and Stoh, 8 km northwest of Terchova village and 9.5 km southeast of the village Veľká Lučivná. Nine marked hiking trails are crossing through the Sedlo Medziholie, and nearby there are ski centers such as Ski Center Vratna. The object is situated in the original place where the old Chata pod Rozsutcom was.The work also describes the character of the construction site and provides urban, architectural and construction-technical solutions for the construction as well as a description of the connection to the transport system. It also takes into account possible environmental impacts on the surrounding area.
