This bachelor thesis presents a proposal for reconstruction of old unused building. As main model structure was chosen the building of Slovan cinema in historic centre of Zvolen. Thesis offers complex scheme of building revitalization in range of partial retention its original function (cinema), which could be renewed by other elements and restored spaces. This can make from historical building a modern polyfunctional place with wide-ranging cultural and social use together with subsidiary services offer. During the complete proposal of reconstruction was minded on historical character of building and its conservation in connection with current modern use. This thesis also summarizes conditions and possibilities of unused structures and their reconstruction. Few examples of reconstruction are introduced worldwide and few in Slovakia.
