Even in the 21st century, entrepreneurs in Slovak Republic the most often use common legal forms for entrepreneurship, even through the presence of newly born and not so popular possibilities. For this very reason, the aim of the bachelor thesis was to identify franchising, as the modern form od entrepreneurship and clearly identify the instructions for starting the business in Slovakia through this form. At the beginning of the theoretical part, attention was paid to defining business and business activities, there are mentioned the most frequent risks of business, life cycle of business and segmentation of companies according to the number of employees and yearly income. Further in the theoretical part are described legal forms of business in Slovak Republic, in case of partnerships and even in business of individuals. The final chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to franchising as the modern form of business, where we compare using this form of entrepreneurship in the Slovak Republic and in the world, specifically in the European countries. Later we have chosen the company Subway, which is located in Banská Bystrica and we interviewed the owner of the operation. In the conclusion we transformed his answers to the guidance for opening the operation of franchising in the Slovak Republic.
