The aim of this work is to determine the methodology by which we could analyze the transfer of coating material over the surface of beech wood. In the theoretical preparation we have described the structure of beech wood, its surroundings and its impact on surface treatment.Through the analysis of the shape of the coating substance on the surface of beech wood, we have come to the identification of significant quantities that influence the process of transferring the coating substance over the surface of beech wood.To determine the measurement methodology of the identified quantities, we need to know the conditions of transfer of the coating substance over the surface of beech wood. Conditions can be stationary and non-stationary.The results are: for the analysis of the shape of the coating substance on the surface of beech wood, we have determined the hanging drop. From the analysis of the hanging drop shape we have identified significant quantities for the transfer of the coating substance over the surface of the beech wood: surface tension, density of the coating substance and beech wood, viscosity of the coating substance, contact angle, coefficient of permeability of beech wood, porosity of beech wood and pressure.
