Nowadays there are more and more environmental issues emerging and their number is constantly increasing. That is the reason to spread the term environmental citizenship and its importance among people quickly. This means to increase the environmental literacy of humanity. The environmental citizenship does not require an acceptance and formation of new laws, but the utilization of already existing ones to create something new. Something that would lead to sustainability of environment. The environmental citizenship represents a choice. The choice of life that will be used to minimize all unfavourable influences on the environment we live in. The way we behave and live our lives have an impact on our future environment. It is not only the matter of enterprises´, organizations´ and various companies´ environmental policies, but the matter of individuals, ergo citizens, meaning in particular their behaviour in their public lives, their work environment, their shopping choices, as well as their involvement in certain activities. Therefore, it should be our priority to accept the environmental citizenship and thus create a certain environmental way of life that will bring results not only in the present, but the far future.
