Diploma thesis deals with the design of construction of new type living furniture setin cooperation with DECODOM, Ltd and subsequent selected strength calculationsindividual furniture units or some furniture parts. The thesis also deals with thecharacteristics and complex analysis of living sets that the company produced in thehistory to the present and their comparison with selected foreign companies in Germanyand Italy. The construction of living set is designed in accordance with the usualprocedures used by the company for serial production and in accordance with theapplicable STN and EN standards. Selected calculations for strength and stability havealmost all the positive results. The living set is functional and meets all requirements forsafe use by consumers. The overall significance of the thesis is to present the design of theconstruction of the living set in cooperation with the designer – design engineer, which isfocused on serial production and the importance of strength and stability calculat ions withregard to the safety and functionality of living sets.
