The aim of the diploma thesis is to point out the issue and use of tribodiagnostics as a preventive maintenance of production machines and equipment by applying methods to a specific object, which is a machining center with a sliding stand and a fixed machine tool head FUEQ 125 - SR / 3. Part of the theoretical part is to get acquainted with the basic concepts, explanation of abrasion, wear and the meaning of lubrication. The practical part is focused on defining the production machine, sampling procedure, application of tribodiagnostic methods and evaluation of the results of specific measurements in practice. The measurement took place in four stages and the degradation of the lubricant was assessed as an indicator of the condition of the object. By applying tribodiagnostics, it is possible to extend the life of the lubricant itself and thus of the production equipment. Based on the results, it was found that the samples contained increased values of abrasive metal - iron. For this reason, it has been shown that there is considerable mechanical wear on the gears and a solution has been recommended.
