The aim of the graduation thesis: Urban multifunctional complex Harbour City - Bratislava, Ružinov, was transformation of the former industrial zone defined by Prístavná street, Plynárenská street, Mlynské Nivy street and Bajkalská street and the elevated junction of D1 motorway - Prístavná street to the multifunctional zone with the prevailing housing function. This area is mainly concentrated in housing enriched with administrative premises and civic amenities, thereby achieving the support of activity and urban character of the most developed part of Bratislava. The urban solution should suitably fit into the existing disparate structure of mostly administrative - manufactural character with regard to the potential of further development and connection to the existing transport infrastructure and the evolving move from the center towards the designed area. The proposal does not count with the preservation of the current structure and functional composition. The assignment did not have a height limit, but the prevailing number of above-ground floors should be up to eight.The urban solution was designed with respect to the existing structure and the emerging objects in the near and wider surroundings. The height and space layout is based on land analyzes, supports transport and pedestrian traffic, enriches the area with new activities and public places. The dominant feature of the urban solution is located on the edge of the center, in the most exposed area of the land, with the functional use of permanent accommodation with beautiful views of the surroundings. Due to the transport connection to the motorway R7 in close vicinity of the land, the design also considers temporary accommodation - a hotel located in the centre of the local square, and also with the parking house in the south-west position of the land, which can be used not only by the designed zone but also as a public park and ride location. Administrative buildings in the north (the main transport route) with their mass determine the street line and at the same time split the residential zone in the south, which thus provide peace, privacy and pleasant less busy areas of the courtyards. They themselves have administrative courtyards that prevent the monotony of the main street move. The transport is led mainly along the perimeter of the land and static transport is considered in addition to the parking house in the underground floor under the entire land. The area is connected to existing cycling routes. The target group for which the complex was designed and adapted is young working people around the age of 30. This is also the basis for the composition of apartments and facilities, whereas the aim is to reduce the commuting distances in the city, to provide work and leisure opportunities in the place of residence. All the proposed facilities have a functional ground level for amenities. The above-mentioned program is solved only at the level of the urban study and this graduation thesis focuses mainly on the function of housing and thus the residential zone in the southern part of the land which borders with the planned park. This zone consists of six 6-storey and two 8-storey apartment buildings with an active ground floor of the building, and as far as the 8-storey buildings adjacent to the local square are concerned, administrative spaces are also included. Thus, four types of residential buildings are specifically solved - two repeating 6-storey and two 8-storey apartment buildings - at the level of an architectural study, which provide a diverse composition of housing units, administrative premises, an actively used ground floor of the building supporting the attractiveness of the surrounding area and the adjacent public spaces of the courtyards.
