In our thesis, we have focused on the usage of a water energy from Ipeľ river. Surveyed area is situated in central part of Slovak Republic, near Holiša municipality. In this area, there are plans to build a breeding fishpond, on which we propose to place small hydroelectric power plant. In the first part of our thesis, we discuss basic characteristics of small hydroelectric power plants. Then in second part, we deal with thesis objectives and area profile description. The third part is focused on hydrological details and calculation of rating curve. Lastly, in the fourth part, we have analyzed two variants of usage of proposed hydroelectric power plant.
