The elaborated diploma thesis deals with the topic of fire safety of multi-storey buildings with subsequent thermal insulation. To highlight the need for fire safety solutions in multi-storey buildings or buildings in general, the initial part of the thesis contains statistics on the fire performance of buildings for the selected region. Subsequently, to show the difficulty of the correct selection of materials and the thermal insulation system of the building facade, an overview of available materials (from commercial to natural) suitable for use as thermal insulation and an overview of thermal insulation systems used from a structural point of view is developed. The work is supplemented by measurement of thermal conductivity of selected insulating materials by experimental method EDPs, which confirms catalog values of thermal conductivity. These values are used in the heat-technical calculation, which is part of the elaborated project of the facade reconstruction of the selected multi-storey building. This project also includes up-to-date legislative requirements for building fire safety. The work demonstrates the effectiveness of combining the reconstruction of the facade of the apartment building with the provision of the latest fire protection requirements of the buildings into a complex whole. The result of this combination is a safe and efficient, long-lasting construction.
