Phenology is a science of the time course of periodically recurring plant and animal manifestations of life depending on the complex of conditions of the external environment, especially weather and climate. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the influence of the changing climate on the phenological phenomena of selected migratory bird species. The work is aimed at assessing the influence of selected meteorological characteristics (air temperature, precipitation total and sunshine duration) on the phenological manifestations of selected migratory birds observed between 2016 and 2018. The selected species observed were Swallow (Hirundo rustica), Common Bellards (Delichon urbica) and Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris). Based on the prescribed methodological procedure, the basic phenological manifestations are observed: spring arrival, flock grouping and autumn departure. Observation of phenological manifestations was focused on the area of western Slovakia and selected meteorological characteristics were obtained from the meteorological station Prievidza. On the basis of the data obtained, it can be said that there is a certain link between climatic conditions and the phenological manifestations of birds.
