The aim of the thesis is to determine relations of residential table sets and to design functional dimensions and their derivation based on anthropometric parameters, ergonomic and spatial requirements of the adult population. The proposal itself was preceded by a comprehensive evaluation of the given issue on the theoretical level based on the available professional literature, and in particular, the existing STN on the level of individual furniture elements and also on the table set as a whole. In the practical part we tried to define the term flat table set and compile its typology within the living space. We deduced the dependencies between the individual functional parameters of the dining and working flat table set. Based on the knowledge from the theoretical part, empirical data from anthropometric parameters and spatial requirements, we have set the minimum, optimal and maximum functional dimensions of dining and working flat table sets. We subsequently verified the interactive functional parameters so determined on randomly selected samples in four different stores in Topoľčany and Nitra. Based on the results of their mutual comparison, we can conclude that all basic functional dimensions of randomly selected flat sets, i.e. the height, width and length of the table and chair, and their basic interactive parameter, the vertical distance between the upper edge of the chair seat surface and the upper table surface , were in line with our set dimensions.
