The main aim of the thesis is to analyse the current state of the management information system and the rate of use of Business Intelligence tools in the selected company. In the first part of the thesis we characterise the basic concepts and theoretical knowledge of Business Intelligence and management information system, explaining the technological nature of Business Intelligence, elements and processes of Business Intelligence. The next part describes and compares available management information systems in Slovakia, which provide Business Intelligence tools, their advantages and disadvantages. Subsequently, we characterised the company under review and specified the company´s management information system. We described individual systems and discovered errors in their use. In the last part, we submitted our own proposal for a unified management information system with Business Intelligence tools, where we designed application areas and compared the current areas with the new ones offered by the new system. We also focused on the benefits to managers of using the new system. After an economic and overall assessment, we made our own proposal for the introduction of the new system and the retention of some of the current systems.
