The bachelor thesis deals with the process of electrogalvanization, its progress of replacement for environmentally more suitable alternatives in order to eliminate endangering of human health and the environment. The introductory pages introduce the process of corrosion, its origin and the factors that initiate it, as well as the influence of the polluted environment on its progress. The following part introduces plating, its forms, methods and reasons for carrying it out at a general level. In methodological section, the thesis focuses on describing the steps of a specific electroplating line, its current bath chemistry, and the replacement of solutions with more environmentally preferable alternatives. In the last section, the emphasis is on the undesirable, toxic effects of the substituted substances on the human body and the environment.
