This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using Unmanned Airborne Vehicles(UAV) for Digital Elevation Models' creation. The aim of this work is both DEM creation and its quality verifying from reliability and vertical accuracy point of view. This thesis consists of three basic parts. The first part discusses the possibilities of DEM's creation and briefly describes each one of the technologies and principles used to input data acquisition. The second part deals with UAV, its definition and its possible uses in various fields. We are focused in detail on particular UAV systems using which we are able to obtain information about landforms. This parts ends with describing the procedure of data acquisition and data processing by UAV. The third part describes errors contained in digital models. The basis of this chapter is comparison of DEM created from UAV data and the etalon, followed by computation of the basic statistical features and finally verifying of its reliability.
