The aim of the Diploma thesis is the design of major urban library occupies an important place in Bratislava, close to the center and following the Danube River and major surrounding buildings , as Comenius University , Umelka Gallery, Slovak National Theater and many others . At present, the plot is a parking area , which is just as important to the makeshift and exposed location . Object library is a compact simple geometric shape , as it seeks to complement the surrounding block structure and preserve the continuity of the street as the basic town-creative element . The focus of the library should be roofed inner atrium, which , according to the model in which the study of ancient libraries . Another important element of the building 's facade , which fleshes out the idea of books through the appearance of sun blades that leaves paraphrase books, which flickers another world , imaginative , surreal . Building , except for library functions can provide additional features like coffee , commercial establishments , theaters and of course access to the latest media and the latest information . The building also combines the traditional with the new - library with its amazing atmosphere and smell of books with Mediatheke third millennium, which is a site providing information of all kinds .
