In my diploma work, I try to look for the possibility of creation of an object as a active social cultural centre existing in precise conditions of a compact urban structure, taking into consideration her scale and definite situation in the dense building of the Dunajska zone, in the close neighborhood of the historical centre of Bratislava. The main questions raising within the process are: How to implement the house into the existing structure? How to create a house whit which people could identify themselves and which will be considered as a part of the urban structure? How to create a fonctional and operational structure in order to make the house being alive all day? How to place the operations and what kind of relationships should they create so that they could be able to enhance their coexistence? The concept of the object is based on the public space entering the inside of the yard. The space for the urban ground floor is being expanded and it also creates public and semi-public spaces with diverse atmosphere where people can meet -- people which are visitors of the different house functions -- which is supporting the creation of a community. The object accumulates numerous functions in order to attract a large spectrum of people with different intersets and reasons to visit the house. The object is situated in an interesting situation of a deep gap where it reacts with neigbouring buildings and meets the structre of the zone.
