The assignment of diploma project is architectural and urban solution of congress hotel **** situated on the Mucha's Square in Bratislava, Petržalka. Mucha's Square is located in a strategically advantageous embodiment of Petržalka, only about 2 km distance from the center of Old Town. In the immediate vicinity are electronics market Euronics TPD, home furniture salesroom Albero, TatraCity multifunctional complex, multifunctional building Vienna Park, Relaxx Center, Atrium furniture store, gas stations OMV and Shell, Lexus showroom and in broader area Aupark shopping center, offices edifice Digital Park, apartment house Petržalka City and University of Economics. Hundreds of people come daily into this area for work and shopping. The area has a direct connection to the bypass and D1 highway to Žilina, Brno and Vienna. The territory is crossed with communication attached to the Old Bridge which connects Petržalka with the Old Town. Such an approach accelerates and simplifies travel for living, working and entertainment. Parking spaces on the ground and hundreds of others in the underground garage will serve to employees, visitors and inhabitants. Of course there are reserved parking spaces for disabled. This site is also easily accessible by public transport, particularly bus and tram. The Mucha's Square is currently unmaintained and does not meet the criteria for entrance square to this city district. Therefore modernising and cultivating as entrance gate to Petržalka is being considered. With insertion of a modern, representative hotel to the currently unused space will this part become a new administrative - business - residential district and gateway of Petržalka. The location and shape of the hotel emerged from the surrounding urban planning. The hotel benefits from its location as it is located in the centre of traffic connection -- urban, connecting the Old Town with Petržalka and international, linking neighboring cities and states. Architecturally the study of hotel is designed in minimising style. The proposal utilizes almost the whole building land, respecting the surrounding buildings. In order to maximize the profits, centroid of the hotel is in the central vertical substance with hotel rooms and hotel apartments of different size and shapes. The vertical mass changes above the terrain into horizontal, where congress and restaurant section is situated. The hotel along with standard facilities for **** hotel has also equipment above standard e.g. fitness and wellness rooms, rooftop restaurant or rooftop swimming pools. The entire building is designed with wireframe construction system with stiff core in a altitudinal mass of the hotel, ergo this solution allows partial variability of the space. The facade consists of modular transparent facade on which glass with surface treatment alternates glass coating without the surface treatment. The congress hotel with its localization and shape refers to dominating factor of the whole area -- the Bratislava Castle. Therefore hotel rooms and representational areas are as much as possible designed with a view at it and at the Old Town. The ambition of the architectural study is revitalization of the Mucha's square area with an emphasis on the conference hotel in order to attract ambient life to the Mucha's square.
