The presented bachelor thesis describes the history of forest fires, describes fire in terms of legislation and deals with proactive measures in prevention of wild fires. Following chapter describes the influence of selected meteorological factors and weather conditions in relation to the creation and spread of forest fires and potential usage of local automatic meteorological stations for the assessment of forest fire hazard. The aim of the thesis was to assess the impact of exposition climate on development of fire index. This assessment based on analyses of bioclimatological stations of the territorial bioclimatological service of Technical University in Zvolen (Boky – South and Boky -North) and the analysis of the fire danger in the natural enviroment in the district of Zvolen, in the conditions of extreme drought in the summer of 2015.
