This master's thesis deals with the possible involvement, use of amateur radio community as experienced signalmen and their technical equipment in dealing with emergencies in cooperation with Integrated Rescue System units. It describes radio amateurs and their group of emergency broadcasts ARES at home in the Slovak Republic and radio amateurs dealing with emergency communication elsewhere in the world. It briefly describes the activity of the Slovak ARES group until today - trainings, assistance to the population in emergencies when it was necessary to provide not only radio communication but also other important tasks. In the area of valid legislation of the Slovak Republic, it examines the possibilities of involvement, i.e. whether the legislation does or does not allow the involvement of radio amateurs to support IRS units and assist residents in dealing with emergencies in the radio communication field. The work deals with emergency, supplementary, supportive and alternative radio connection provided by radio amateurs and their technical equipment as a mean of support and relief of IRS units in the area affected by an emergency, where due to destructive forces the radio connection is broken or overloaded. This master's thesis aims to describe the topic of amateur radio activities in the state in which it is at the present and to highlight within the scope those elements that are most useful during the management of emergency situations. Recommendations are proposed for the amateur radio community and for state administration bodies, including open questions that arose during the examination of the giventopic.
