The contents of this bachelor thesis is an economic analysis of a capital investment project for establishing a forest nursery project. The first part of a thesis is dedicated to the characterisation of nature and economic conditions for seedlings production. Consequently the demand for seedlings was analysed. All physical inputs and outputs that were needed were specified and appreciated. Using a break-even chart the number of sold seedlings needed to cover the costs is identified. Selected profitability criteria which evaluate the project are the measures of the net present value, the benefit-cost ratio, the internal rate of return and the discounted pay-back period. Based on these calculated criteria, the conclusion is, that the analysed project is profitable.
