The work deals with the use of thermal imaging cameras in fire fighting. In the first part, a literature analysis of the issue is performed, including the origin and phases of fire, principles, methods and methods of non-contact temperature measurement. This part also explains the principle of thermal imaging, the basic structure of a thermal imaging camera and a comparison of the parameters of individual models of thermal imaging cameras used in the fire and rescue field in our country. The second part of the work is focused on selected examples of applications of thermal imaging cameras in fire protection and their use in fire and rescue practice.
