JANCÍKOVÁ, Ivana: ISOVER competition 2018 Residential housing - Dubai. [Bachelor thesis]. Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. Faculty of Civil Engineering; Department of Architecture. Leader of the bachelor thesis: Ing. arch. Margita Kubišová, PhD. Bratislava Svf STU, 2018. In the final bachelor study I have been involved in the ISOVER competition, where I have been dealing with residential housing in Dubai. The proposal is to include approximately 242 dwelling units for 1 to 3 people, 12% of the living area of the area should approximately form a polyfunction. It was necessary to create a sustainable architecture integrated into the urban area, responding to the criteria of the Saint - Gobain Multi Comfort and taking into account the climatic conditions and the regional context of the site. The proposal should have been innovative and should further expand the city. The complex is located in Dubai, the largest and most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. The more specific location is in Al Jadaf - Culture Village, which was originally an empty desert landscape. The location has tropical desert climate. In the development of matter, I proceeded from simple shapes. I was inspired by a typical woman dressed for United Arab Emirates. The complex of residential housing consists of 5 buildings with a height of 7 to 10 above-ground floors and 2 smaller facilities with 1 above-ground floor. Objects have simple planar shapes of a rectangle that, by their arrangement, create a public interior space. Selected objects have designed flat vegetation roofs serving as roof terraces. Solar and photovoltaic panels are located on other roofs. Entrances to individual buildings and facilities are from the public inner space. There is 1 underground floor where the proposed garage and technical background of the complex are proposed. On the first floor there will be facilities such as shops, services, a children's center, a café, a restaurant and a fitness room. In the north, parking spaces are designed. Other overground floors are used for housing, where three different types of housing units are located. A distinctive feature for this complex is the prefabricated titanium panel facade in combination with the optic membrane in the perforation sections. The main features are protection against strong sunlight and noise. Residents can reduce room shading to their own requirements.
