The final thesis deals with the landscape area Tatranská Polianka. Part of the submitted project are the definitions of potentials, limits and problem areas of the territory to be dealt with. In the diploma thesis I was creating an urbanistic study in order to achieve more effective use of this attractive space. Since Tatranská Polianka is a spa village of the High Tatra’s and has rich history, I used background and preserved materials from its history while working on this project. While working on the thesis I emphasized the possibilities of recreation of the sanatorium patients, which is located in the settlement and further on the possibilities of cultural, social life of inhabitants and last but not least on the tourist utilization. As a landscape area is located in the National Park of Tatra’s, I have tried to minimize interference with the country and disturb it’s character, but also to create new territorial attractiveness to increase the quality of life of the residents and attract more tourists. The whole project is directly linked to the pre-diploma work.
